Home made beef burger with caramelised onions, cheese, salad and wedges
Step 1: Potato wedges
Cut the potatoes into chunky wedges and coat them with oil and season with salt.
Bake them in the oven at 180c for roughly 30 minutes until they are golden brown outside and soft in the middle, remember to turn them halfway.(You can also use air fryer to achieve the same result.)
Step 2: Beef burger (Give the potatoes a 15/20 minute head start)
Add some oil to a frying pan and place over medium heat.
Cook both sides of beef burger until golden brown outside and done to your liking inside, season both sides with a little salt, press down the patty with spatula or potato masher during cooking.
Take out of the pan, put the slice of cheese on the top of patty, then cover with a lid (don’t let the lid touch the cheese) and let it rest.
Step 3: Onions (same time as step 2)
Add some oil to the same frying pan and place over medium heat.
Fry the onions continuously until they are caramelised, season with salt and add a little sugar and water when the pan gets too dry.
Then assemble the burger with salad at the bottom, patty in the middle then onions on the top.
