Steamed Rice

Rice (100g per person)

Always wash rice before cooking and drain off excess water with colander

Option 1. Gas Hob  (100g rice with 150g water)

  1. Bring to the boil on medium to high heat. (Take off the lid if the water starts to overspill.)
  2. Turn down to low and cover with lid and cook for another 10 – 15 minutes until water is fully absorbed.
  3. Turn the gas off and rest for 10 to 15 minutes.

Option 2. Microwave (100g rice with 200g water)

  1. Microwave on high for 10 to 15 minutes with no lid
  2. Take out of the microwave, cover with lid and allow to rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
